The Vermont State Dental BoardΒ was established to ensure that every dentist and dental hygienist practicing in this state meets minimum requirements for safe practice. The practice of these professions is a privilege granted by the State. The Board of Dental Examiners is responsible for licensure, monitoring and ensuring the safe practice of dentists and dental hygienists in their service to the people of Vermont.

The purpose of the Vermont State Dental BoardΒ is to ensure that the dental profession merit and receive the confidence of the public and that only qualified persons be permitted to practice dentistry and dental hygiene in the state of Vermont. The State Dental Board is entrusted to promote service excellence in dentistry and to protect the public through licensure, education and enforcement of standards with fairness and integrity.

The Board of Dental Examiners is responsible for the protection of the public by governing and regulating the practice of dentistry and dental hygiene in Vermont. The Board examines, licenses, and registers applicants whom it finds qualified to practice dentistry and dental hygiene. The Board also makes and amends reasonable rules and regulations governing the conduct of all dental examiners.

The Vermont State Dental Board oversees licensed individuals who provide dental services within the state. The state dental board also accepts complaints against licensed and unlicensed individuals, investigates allegations, and takes disciplinary actions for violations of law.
